Teach-In

A teach-in is similar to a general educational forum on any complicated issue, usually an issue involving current political affairs. The main difference between a teach-in and a seminar is the refusal to limit the discussion to a specific frame of time or an academic scope of the topic. Teach-ins are meant to be practical, participatory, and oriented toward action.

We want to hear from the 99%. Come and share you ideas and thoughts because they are the fuel that keeps this movement going.

We agreed to hold concurrent teach-ins in the park, which means any
individual and groups can set up a table in the park to present
information or do teach-ins about topics and issues related to the
Occupy protest movement.

Please remember, we at the general assembly decided NOT to have
individual speakers on the podium speaking in the park. The individual
teach-ins are a way for everyone to have their voices heard.

  1. I want to be involved as I am very passionate about this and have been for quite some time. Please contact me at darikmc@gmail.com

  2. I would like to do a teach-in on:

Background of the present economic crisis
Main points in the unraveling of the US Banking System
Statistical figures on Banks volume, salaries of CEO, etc. etc.

It would be at Cesar Chavez Park either Saturdays or Sundays.

    Thank you

  3. Kim — I thought by using that four letter word as acronym for the “Conference Unifying the New Team” which could have been a description of the Occupy Movement itself (!), you were being NEGATIVE about the movement. Obviously I misread, but I have pretty good verbal skills, so I wanted you to know of my mistake. Perhaps using the expletive sets such a negative tone that it, all by itself, causes negativity.
