GA Minutes Wed 1-11-12 6pm at City Hall Steps.

Facilitation.
-Facilitation Teach-In after GA tonight. People can start groups and do things without permission from GA if it is Non-Violent. Motions are formal and come later. Hand signals indicate responses.
Strategy Building.
-SeanL said he'll be on INTEROCCUPY.ORG conference call next Tue for 99% Resolution from Philadelphia .about national strategy for May Day and July 4th event.
-Sea, Strategy Building, in the category General Assembly on Forum at OCCUPYSAC.COM/SPEAK/. Committees of Correspondence are forming nation-wide. Contacts for CoCs are SeanL and Sea.
Foreclosures group.
-Michelle, Foreclosures group will be at MLK Day on 16th, will send letter to the Attorney General on 18th, will canvass Oak Park on 22, and will ask County Board of Supervisors to send letter to Atty General on the 26th. Kim will put on calendar.
Media.
-Autumn introduced Zee, Tyler, Brandon, and Eddie, as she was videoing our GA.
Resolution and Motions/Proposals.
-Darcey reads OOCUPYSACGA@GMAIL.COM. Is working with inactive OcSac resolution committee yahoo group. It needs help, its "dead" with no active members.
Food and Urban Logistics.
-Fago and Cat, our OcSac bicycle/hand cart is being locked down by Nathan.
-Kim is arranging food with WSWA for MLK Day and other events.
Outreach Action.
-Robert has fliers for Citizens United ruling rally on 21st and will bring many for each GA. Common Cause, Moveon, Occupys Stockton Woodland are helping. Bernie Sanders has bill in Congress to overturn Citizens United ruling which allows anonymous foreign corporations unions and corporations to make unlimited political money donations. California legislative member is pushing bill for rally on the 21st. SEIU office is printing fliers to be distributed in Carmichael Citrus Heights and Elk Grove. Apr 7 Sat is "Spring in to Action" day to take over State Capitol and set up tents.
City Hall Sit-In People
-Joe, Fago, Little John do "random acts of awesomeness". Marched through Safeway at 19th and S and customers supported them. They meet and talk to passers by. Info is being put on calendar with Kim's help.
Announcements.
-Matt, "Agenda 21" is said to be "Green" but it takes away your car and property and makes you dependent on City, and will Smart Meter your electricity.
-Carol introduced Terry Schanz who is a City Council candidate for District 4.
-Patrick Snyder is a US Senate candidate.
-Kim said MLK Day starts at 7:30am at 8th Ave and MLK Blvd, and marches to César Chavez for a rally at 2pm. Mary will do Teach-In as Occupy Norcal with San Francisco on the 20th.
-Sarah, Occupy Courts will involve counties Lake, Yolo, and Nevada.
-SeanL said 900 people were at Univ Hlth Care event last Mon. They went to Capitol and BoA and Congressperson Ami Berra was there. Economics and Federal Reserve Teach-Ins every Sat at 2.
-Guy with van has generator.
-Michael, WSWA phone number is 456-1771 and they want someone to write an OpEd piece.
-Autumn mentioned her press representative concern.
