New Energy

Postby bbd_san » Sat Dec 24, 2023 10:02 pm

I like to tinker with electrical stuff, generators, etc. I'm a mechanical engineer. Are there any other folks out there who like to tinker? I want to work on new energy devices to replace current technology that burns stuff & pollutes the environment. Anyone here interested in this kind of thing?

Hello, YES, this is something we're working on soon! Energy supply down at the park is an issue, and we're working on getting a good solar system running, with a couple deep cycle batteries and an inverter... definitely could use some help with this (and other) projects, thanks!

How about using the technology we already have but are suppressed by our governments or special interest groups because it is free and clean. It is everyone’s best interest in the world to use what we already have knowledge of.

1. How about the Tesla coil?

PROS – Nearly free, completely safe, unlimited natural resource, environmentally sound and economically endless from energy costs, opens a whole new industry for jobs, manufacturing, and goods which makes us self reliant from foreign energy.

CONS – NONE

Reference material – Many documentaries from T.V to movies, any related web page, books, he does hold hundreds of patents. http://www.pbs.org/tesla/ins/lab_tescoil.html

2. How about Stan Meyer?

PROS – Cost effective, safe, natural resource, environmentally sound and economically endless from energy costs, opens a whole new industry for jobs, manufacturing, and goods which makes us self reliant from foreign energy.

CONS – NONE

Reference material – Any related web page, recorded litterateur, he does hold many of patents.http://waterpoweredcar.com/stan.html

3. How about Hemp/Cannabis?

PROS – Cost effective, completely safe, medical benefits, food source, unlimited natural resource, environmentally sound and economically endless from energy costs, opens a whole new industry for jobs, manufacturing, and goods which makes us self reliant from foreign energy and goods.

CONS – Good enough for the “Declaration of Independence” but not our children with crayons. We have created a crime generating revenue with prohibition on weed yet tobacco and alcohol have killed millions.

Reference material – Many documentaries from T.V to movies, any web page, books, personal experience. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 651731007#

Three solutions I propose to eliminate or limit the special interest groups from the oil companies and corrupt governments to deforestation and revenue driven crime factories. We all have acted as sheep and let them destroy the planet, kill countless lives and let the Dinosaurs control us. They cannot make as much revenue without poisoning us. How can all countries be in financial turmoil simultaneously? These people have funnelled all our money somewhere. We have the right to know who and why. Let’s make them accountable for a change. Just a fraction of the oil profits each year could fund any project to explore the above mentioned issues and others. After all, they created a lot of problems. People need to occupy the world, regain our control and make our government for the people not, buy the right people. Maybe we need an attitude adjustment? Maybe we will get one real soon? If you don’t choose you have still made a choice. I guess that’s why I have chosen to express my opinions, I feel very frustrated, deceived, betrayed and divided. I still have the spirit of all life on this planet.

I would like to know what you think. If perhaps this content is occupy worthy. Please do the research like I did, it didn’t take that much. To be free shouldn't clean resources available be utilized!

Balancing Politics and Technology

Postby Sea » Thu Feb 02, 2024 12:51 pm

Brandon,
New Energy means power to operate things, mechanical dynamics, and it also means higher consciousness to do the right thing. Occupy is involved in both. The tech for derivatives from Tesla's work, the use of hemp, as well as a more refined understanding of physics, is developing.

Occupy will have to balance poliltical principles with technical principles. Maybe we need a "proper use of technology" working group.

We have an Environmental Working Group. I disagree what we need a group just to deal with the ethics of developing tech. Teams, Groups, Committees and Working Groups of 1 don't get much done, at least not in my opinion, we need fewer groups working towards these goals not more groups working towards more goals. Also We have tech now that can offer real solutions we just need to figure out how to fund, construct and transport it.

I think we're all kind of talking about different things, I was focusing more on how to have electricity down at Cesar Chavez Park to literally power the movement's laptops, wifi, streaming, cooking, etc.

And I do think the movement should avoid using dirty power supplies to achieve this... First to be responsible, but also to make the point that it can and should be done by everyone!

But yeah I also agree that we have enough working groups and committees already

New Energy

Postby Sea » Tue Feb 07, 2024 6:34 pm

Right Nathan. We don't need a new "committee". The actual idea of what a "committee" is is one of the sore points of the GA. Somehow a Resolutions group tried and I guess partially succeeded in turning its usefulness into something divisive. I hope that in fact concern for power in the park and concern for power in general aren't separate concerns. I think new energy also means new ways of interacting non-violently. Yet we can't pretend to ignore very divisive real confrontations, even within our own group.

Occupy will necessarily have to be ahead of everyone else on knowing what tech is available and whether its appropriate. The OSWGWHE group — hopefully it won't get ensnared in divisive "committee" politics — the Occupy Sacramento Working Group for Workers Health and the Environment, will be involved in the use of technology. What "New Energy" actually turns out to be in practice will affect workers and health and the environment. Why don't you join eco-occupy here: http://groups.google.com/group/eco-occupy/topics?hl=en. Or email the OSWGWHE working group at oswgwhe@gmail.com.

Real technologies exist that we need to harness while every advertisement that comes our way won't be needed. So hopefully if Facebookers talk to Forum Posters we can all have a better idea of what we need to do. As world leaders, we have to be ahead of everyone else. Although I admit some people really rail against "leaders", least of all for the world. If there are good examples of leading ideas and leading movements in the past we need to learn. You probably know I take take heat and give it out. Its awkward speaking out a lot. I try to be discreet. New Energy is a very important topic and worth discussing at length. I saw a demonstration of a device that can rid our air land water and buildings of pollutants. When I learn more I'll let you know.
