YOU CAN STILL NOMINATE SAC OCCUPY BY GOING TO http://fdlaction.firedoglake.com/2012/0 ... -counting/
I took the liberty of sending this nomination in for what I thought were two outstanding achievements of Sac Occupy:
1. In two back-to-back meetings with the City Council we went from being "naive and trusting fools"
as the Council played us and we applauded them (October 11th) to being very savvy occupiers and and
figuring out what democracy looks like and how to use it (October 18th). These events are described at:

2. We were the first occupy zone in the country, as far as I know, to formally recognize our online
community with full and equal "citizenship" to our in-the-park occupiers. Our motion to enfranchise our
virtual ciziens passed online and in our GA in unanimous votes. This was the beginning of breaking down
a false distinction between the two groups, recognizing that both were equally committed to Occupy Sacramento.
We chose inclusive democracy instead, and I think that was an outstanding achievement.
full and equal citizenship in Occupy to our online community.

Yes, we have suffered our mistakes, been fools at times and have gone through the same rough trials
and pratfalls as most other Occupy zones. But in those and some other outstanding ways, I think we can
be proud of our accomplishments; and are second to none.
