Report backs and announcments:
- Fego (Food Working Group): We have the food tables back now, but need food for them. He won't be hosting tables Tuesday, but is asking for food Wednesday (lunch and dinner);
- Brother Carter (Outreach Working Group):
- We had a successful Human Rights Day Saturday, and Clear Channel protest day today (with 20-25 people at the latter).
- Please come to the last City Council meeting before the 2 week holiday break they take (meeting starts at 6 pm, doors open at 5:30 pm)
- Lots of people at the Oakland ports event today
- 1st amendment party (mid last week) went well, with 23 arrests (then Joe later)
- THE CHARGES FOR THE FOLKS SCHEDULED TO GO TO TRIAL TOMORROW WERE DROPPED!!!
But Joe (the tree guy) and later cases are still pending. - NATIONAL BILL OF RIGHTS DAY THIS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15: Gather at the park at 11 am, to march to the capitol at 11:30 am. They'll be speakers, including one (or more?) speaking on the National Defense Authorization Act bill now being considered by the Senate, which includes language authorizing indefinite detention for American citizens. [Notetaker's addition: for more info see: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/can-the ... out-trial/] *NOTE: PLEASE realize that some are feeling unsafe with dogs on the marches. We are not asking people NOT bring them, if they really want to, but perhaps to march at the back of the group.
- OCCUPY WOODLAND WILL HAVE AN "OCCUPY THE BANK" EVENT AT THE GRAND OPENING OF THE NEW CHASE BANK IN WOODLAND TOMORROW (TUESDAY): Be there at 8:45 am for the grand opening at 9 am; see Cindy Sheehan speak at 10 am.
- PLEASE COME TO THE SUPERIOR COURT TO SUPPORT JOE (the tree protestor) AT 1 PM TOMORROW (Tuesday). *NOTETAKER ADDITION (from Cres): RALLY TUESDAY 12/13/2011 1 pm Downtown Courthouse - 720 Ninth Street Sacramento, CA 95814 for "Joe" Steven Carter, the Occupy tree sitter. He's been in jail since Friday. Rally at 1 pm at Courthouse (9th St. side) for Joe, the Occupy tree sitter...pass the word. His hearing is 1:35 Dept 3 (please only quiet in hearing room)
