D. Cres (Legal) - The first trials of those arrested in October begin Tuesday at 8am (Dec 13) at the superior court that’s betweeh G and H on 9th street. We are going to have a large rally in solidarity with those who are facing trial. There were 23 people arrested Thursday morning. 24th person arrested Friday morning for the protest to defend the first amendment at the park.
E. Cres(Coordinating Working Group) - Reps from working groups and committees get together to organize things. Volunteer sign up sheets on the info table, working on a packet of information with info for committees and working groups.
F. Cres (PR) - hundreds of stories in Sacramento written. Every broadcast reaches 100,000 households approx. The arrests were on 8 or 12 broadcasts. A million or more households. The other occupies are looking towards Sacramento for all the press we’ve been getting.
G. Cesar (Outreach) - A lot of actions, Monday morning is the port action for Oakland. Plenty of people here will be going there as well, Total west coast port shutdown, oakland seattle, tacoma, LA, all the way up to Anchorage. People gathered at the park to arrange carpools for the other port shutdown, but not for this. Leave a request at info booth if you’re interested in going or willing to give rides to people who want to go. There is some carpooling networking on the OS facebook page.
H. Tiffany (NVC & Facilitation) - 3pm every saturday for NVC teach ins. Trying to work on conflict prevention and resolution at the occupation. Facilitation working group - Every Sunday at 3 for a meeting/teach in about how to facilitate. Would love to get to the point where facilitators are rotating.
I. Chris (DERP) - DERP company to start providing coverage for everybody. Talked to nightwatch commander that was here for the party two nights ago, if we have a valid business license that says we produce media, he will allow us to be in the park in the same way mainstream media is in the park, cannot interact with anybody can only be observers. Interaction with occupiers has to be done from the sidewalk. There is no legal requirement for press passes, PD is allowed to determine who is a legitimate news source. 12,000 viewers. May be able to prevent citizen based journalists to record whats going on - judge ruled in portland that bloggers are not journalists.
