1.1 Welcome
1.2 Introductions
1.3 Explanation of Hand Signals
1.4 Introduction of Agenda – report backs, old business (none), new business (none), announcements, adjournment, soapbox
2. Report Backs
2.1 Darryl – Finance
Darryl reported: We’re still broke. He put out a call for cash donations to the WePay account. With 7,000 likes, if each gave $2.00, we would have enough to operate for at least three months. The truck is no longer available. Thank you, Dave Jenest, for allowing us to store our items with you temporarily. In order to gain access to the items, there will have to be coordinated efforts with Darryl and one other person. Thank you, Rob and Centri, for volunteering time to unload the truck. Darryl needs help to do an inventory this week. Sacramento has been generous, and there a lot of certain specific items. Anyone providing food service will have to think about the logistics of providing food in one container that can be handed off to a person, complete with cutlery, napkin, cup, etc., which can be thrown away.
CQ: How is food service going to work without a table?
PoI: Someone is bringing a turkey.
Darryl responded: Not sure how we’ll be able to serve it. Perhaps someone should communicate with that person.
PoI: The person was here and is aware of the situation.
Cres: We should avoid going into a lot of details here at this time, because there is a coordinating group meeting following the GA at 7:00 tonight, where these things will be considered.
2.2 Sara Beth – Facilitation Committee
Sara Beth reported: There was a great teach-in yesterday. Seven people attended. We need other people to join and we specifically need more people to facilitate. Please join us next Sunday at 3:00 pm in the park (with slight chance that it may be cancelled due to scheduling conflict).
2.3 Tiffany – Nonviolent Communication Committee
Tiffany reported: There was a teach-in on Saturday at 3 pm and we will continue to have teach-ins every Saturday at 3 pm. There are eleven people involved in the committee so far, and all are welcome to join us.
2.4 Sean Laney – Education Committee
Sean reported: There have been problems with follow-ups on things like t-shirts and graphic arts – that’s why he hasn’t been around as much. He wants to get t-shirts printed up this week. We will need to discuss logistics.
2.5 Karen – Resolutions and Statements Committee
Karen reported: We will need to double down and get with the business of organizing the committees. We are going back to the drawing board this week with the committees.
2.6 Cres –Legal Committee
Cres reported: There are 19 people facing trial. All the rest have had charges dismissed (or for most recent arrests, charges not filed). The City Attorney cannot handle 84 trials and is using a new strategy of trying to break solidarity and just go after those who have been arrested more than once. The first trial is set for December 13, but may trail to December 15 or 16. The defense team is meeting this week to go over strategies.
CQ: Does Cres have the e-mail addresses of those whose charges were dismissed? Is someone sending out an e-mail asking people to show up and support those still facing charges?
Cres: The committee is waiting for the defense team strategy meeting. We don’t know if the trials will trail. He will let them know.
Bob: I offer to do a court-watch teach-in about how to be a participant in court as a watcher.
3. Old Business – None
4. New Business – None
5. Announcements
5.1 Sean Laney announced that the occupyconfessions site is up for video stories – touching, sad, morale-boosting – human stories. They are working on ways to package it. The actual structure is up and can accept submissions at http://occupyconfessions.org/. They will also be filming stories.
5.2 Sara Beth announced that she cannot and will not continue facilitating – last night was the first time in ten years of facilitating all sizes and types of groups that she has walked away from and been driven to tears by a group she has facilitated. There are enough people in the group who do not want this direct democracy that models OWS that the body has become abusive to her. She will be back at some point when she can trust again. She will be actively supporting from afar as a moderator on Facebook and will continue to do her facilitation teach-ins. The minute-taker cannot do justice to Sara Beth’s impassioned remarks regarding her love and commitment to this community and the causes of education, health care, and Glass-Steagall. The minute-taker urges you to view her announcement on the Livestream of this GA at http://www.livestream.com/occupysacto.
6. Adjournment – 6:05 p.m.
